Tara is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with over nine years of experience in therapy, case management, and advocacy work. She serves clients in our Cedar Rapids office and via telehealth, focusing on adolescents and adults. Tara has worked in diverse professional settings and has a particular interest in supporting athletes through Sports Psychology and Wellness interventions.  

Her therapeutic approach is collaborative, helping clients develop positive coping skills and healthy thinking patterns. Drawing from multiple evidence-based practices, Tara incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Neurodivergent Affirming Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma-Focused Therapy, and aspects of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to meet each client’s unique needs.  

As a former collegiate athlete, Tara often integrates her lifelong commitment to fitness and wellness into her work when appropriate. She believes that clients are the experts of their own lives and views her role as providing an outside perspective, reframing challenges, and offering practical interventions to empower growth between sessions.  

Tara is passionate about creating opportunities for clients to overcome self-perceived or societal limitations and achieve their fullest potential. She is dedicated to helping individuals thrive and become the best version of themselves.
