Susu Ahmed, LMSW (she/her/hers) is based in West Des Moines with a focus on eating disorders, particularly from a size-inclusive and body-liberation-informed perspective. Susu earned her Master’s degree from the University of Michigan and her Bachelor’s in Social Work from the University of Iowa. Her extensive experience includes working on a suicide prevention line and as a crisis counselor, bringing a wealth of empathy to her practice.

Susu is dedicated to creating a warm, supportive environment where individuals can feel safe to share their stories and work toward healing. Susu's therapeutic approach combines Motivational Interviewing, a strategy for having transformative conversations about change, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which encourages aligning behavior with personal values. This blend of techniques supports clients in exploring their challenges while fostering a sense of purpose and direction.
