Rachel Schiltz (she/her) is a mental health counselor at our Davenport location working with adolescents and adults from age 12 onwards. Rachel’s approach to counseling is supportive, genuine, and nonjudgmental. She has experience working with a diverse population presenting with depressive and anxiety disorders, life transitions, gender dysphoria, navigating gender-affirming transition, and coping with a variety of stressors. Rachel is passionate about helping clients overcome the challenges of relationship stress, inclusive of traditional and non-traditional relationship structures, focusing on improving communication and building resilience.
Rachel applies a person-centered counseling philosophy in shaping treatment planning, integrating dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and motivational interviewing (MI) techniques as indicated. The core of her therapeutic approach is emphasizing the importance of a collaborative therapeutic relationship and fostering an environment for change, growth, and healing. Rachel believes that each client has the capacity to overcome hardships and aims to work alongside clients in their self-discovery process towards a fulfilling life.
