Lana (she/her) is an LMSW in Iowa City whose approach to therapy is collaborative, strengths-based, holistic, and person-centered. Her way of being is rooted in authenticity, compassion, community, connection with the earth, and creativity. Lana believes that every person is the expert of their own life and offers support to help them rediscover or reconnect with their most authentic selves. A fierce advocate for her clients, Lana has experience working with individuals navigating housing instability, substance use challenges, queer and trans identities, and involvement in the criminal justice system. She understands how systems of oppression—such as discrimination and economic inequality—affect mental health and shape people’s experiences. Lana also has years of experience working with adolescents and young adults in a nature-based therapy setting. Lana enjoys working with a diverse range of people of different ages, cultures, and backgrounds. Lana is often described as warm, personable, open-minded, and easy to talk to.
