Dr. Muleya (she/her) is a compassionate temporary licensed mental health counselor with a Doctoral degree in Psychology and a passion for the art of understanding the human psyche. Dr. Muleya has a history as a college professor and family systems, child behavioral health, and parenting specialist. She believes in empowering individuals to take charge of their lives and make informed decisions through working collaboratively with clients to help provide clarity and act as a sounding board. Dr. Muleya focuses on evidence-based therapeutic treatment modalities rooted in empathy, respect, and active listening. She has a passion for helping clients develop skills and strategies needed to cope with difficult situations, feel empowered to make positive changes, and achieve their goals.
Dr. Muleya is eager to contribute her expertise in attachment-based therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, and cognitive-behavioral therapy to support individuals, families, and couples in achieving lasting change and improved well-being.
Dr. Muleya is available to see clients at the West Des Moines office, both in person and via telehealth. She welcomes clients of all ages and specializes in children’s behavioral issues, childhood through college age academic stress due to neurodivergence, and adult romantic relationship attachment-based issues.
