Kari (she/hers) is a licensed independent social worker with an extensive mental health background working primarily with children, adolescents and families. Kari has worked previously in residential, inpatient, and crisis settings, offering both psychotherapy and case management services. Kari has received additional training in the areas of Eating Disorders, Trauma-Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training), CBT, DBT, and ESFT (ecosystemic structural family therapy). In her practice Kari is thrilled to offer FBT (Family Based Treatment), the gold-standard treatment for childhood eating disorders, and comes to Green Counseling with nearly 10 years of experience treating children with eating disorders in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Kari truly understands each person comes to therapy from their own unique circumstances and strives to create a space for clients to feel safe, heard, and supported. By creating a strong therapeutic relationship above all else, she approaches each interaction with her clients non-judgmentally and enters each session meeting her clients where-they-are-in-the-moment. She focuses on helping clients identify and remove barriers in their lives that are impeding growth, and uses a strength-based approach to assist clients in achieving their goals.
