Jerrell Bates (he/him/his) is a dedicated and empathetic counseling intern at Green Counseling, currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Northern Iowa. With a deep passion for supporting individuals through their personal and emotional challenges, Jerrell has embarked on a journey to develop skills and gain hands-on experience in the field of mental health. Jerrell’s academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Mental Health from the University of Northern Iowa, where he developed a strong foundation in psychological theories and practices. Through previous experiences, Jerrell has a background in utilizing cognitive behavioral theory (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and person-centered therapy. In addition to his coursework, Jerrell currently serves as the President of the Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society International at the University of Northern Iowa.
In his role as a counseling intern, Jerrell is committed to providing compassionate and client-centered support, working closely with licensed counselors to offer individual and group counseling sessions. As Jerrell continues his internship, he is excited to contribute to the well-being of clients while further developing his skills and knowledge in the field of counseling.
